Formulas

Formulas are the lowest level of configuration Ofca calculator can provide. Whatever calculation or value assignment you wish to achieve, you should use a formula.

Every formula is created within a rule, and is executed only within the rule in which it was created.

CREATE NEW FORMULA

To create a formula, click on the Add formula button below the formula list. New formula should appear at the bottom of the formula list with the name "New formula". Click on it to continue editing.

Every formula has the following parameters:

  • Formula name – short description
  • Formula description – detailed description

Both parameters should be used for your easier navigation thru the Calculator Configurator.

TYPES OF FORMULA

There are two types of formula:

EXECUTION ORDER

All the formulas are executed exactly in sequence as they are presented on the list, top to bottom. If you wish to change the order, move the mouse pointer to the name of the formula you wish to move in order:

Small upwards and downwards pointing arrows should appear on the right side of the formula. If you wish to move the formula closer to the start of execution, click the upwards pointing arrow. If you wish to move the formula closer to the end of execution, click the downwards pointing arrow.

If your formula is at the top of the sequence, only the downward pointing arrow will appear. Likewise, if your formula is at the bottom of the sequence, only the upward pointing arrow will appear.

COPY A FORMULA

You can copy a formula by clicking on the Copy icon next to the formula name. The copied formula will appear at the bottom of the execution sequence, with the string "(Copy)" added to the original formula name.

DELETE A FORMULA

If you wish to delete a formula, you can do it by clicking on the Trashcan icon next to the formula name.
WARNING! Deleting a formula is irreversible, if you wish to undo a delete you will have to recreate the deleted formula by hand.
